Timespace DVRR500 - 8 Channel Specification
This 8 channel R500 provides customers with an eight-channel hybrid recorder using a mixture of four analogue and four 4K HD 40MP IP camera inputs. The digital video recorder uses H.264 compression with capability of using H.265 in the future. This is to reduce file sizes to a fraction of their original size whilst maintaining video quality. The Timespace products are fully compatible with LANLink and PCLink meaning footage can be easily reviewed, this product is designed for the police with its covert silent recording mode and motion detection system.
4K Resolution Capability
What do we mean when we say 4K resolution? 4K video resolution is quite the step up from your standard 720p or 1080p resolution. 4K is four times the resolution of 1080p (Full HD) and in a 16:9 ratio contains 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. a 4K video contains more than 8 million pixels compared with 2 million pixels in your 1080p video image. This will be mostly noticeable on finer details such as the rendering of hair, feathers or general details up close.
Benefits of IP Cameras
IP (Internet Protocol) cameras are powered over ethernet (PoE) and offer a far superior camera image quality/resolution to that of any other camera output. IP cameras can also be more cost-effective as they often cover a much wider range than that of an analogue camera. It would need up to four low-resolution analogue cameras to cover the same recording area as a single IP camera.
E11 Certification Vehicle Approval
The E11 Mark is the British specific Mark that covers equipment/vehicles supplied to the automotive industry. This includes commercial vehicles, construction machinery and general vehicle use and basically means the unit has been approved by ECU compliance and quality control regulations. (source)
H.265 Video Compression
The compression ratio of H.265 is almost double that of H.264 and offers significant improvements to the prediction motion. H.265 uses High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) which allows for reduced file sizes and therefore less bandwidth rather than Advanced Video Coding (AVC). Coding Tree Units, which is how H.265 processes information, can process 64x64px blocks rather than 16x16px using H.264.
H.264 Video Compression
H.264 is a video compression for digital video recorders to use when reducing video file sizes without losing resolution in the captured footage. H.264 standard compresses the footage so that only half the storage space is used however the same video quality is maintained. Advanced Video Coding (AVC) uses Macroblocks to process information in 16x16px blocks.
Timespace PCLink Suite
The PCLink Suite allows users to review footage and blur objects/faces using an inbuilt software tool in the event that footage is used in evidence for courts or policing. The system also offers user-friendly playback and reviewing alongside alarm and motion markers for rapid analysis of footage.
Live view features include multi-camera live video streaming, playback, real-time live map locations of vehicles and watermarking/password protection.

Timespace LANLink System
The LANLink System offers a health overview for a number of Timespace Digital Video Recorders fitted onto numerous vehicles. LANLink is presented as a series of web pages viewed from any browser-capable device. Using simple LED icons and easy to navigate pages, LANLink allows operators to see the health of their entire fleet of DVRs
