LawMate 4K UHD Key Fob Camera Specification

The PV-RC400UW camera is the 6th generation device from LawMate introducing exceptional 4K Ultra HD video quality with the added benefit of P2P Wi-Fi connectivity. Once connected to a smart device, the LawMate app provides full setting control and live view allowing for real-time adjustments. The PV-RC400UW camera system is also fitted with a vibration feedback system providing silent and tactile cues for each mode change ensuring complete discretion during operation.

Discretely designed, you can put the RC400UW key fob on your own key ring and never worry about it being detected. At the touch of a button the camera will start up and be ready to record video in a couple of seconds. This key fob DVR covert camera will vibrate quickly to let you know what it is doing (this feature is switchable). Video is captured on to the supplied 128gb Micro SD card which will hold around 4+ hours of video (@ UHD resolution) and many stills photos. MicroSD cards can be used up to 256gb in size.

Unlike many other devices we have seen, the PV-RC400UW records at up to 3840×2160 4K UHD resolution (at 25/30fps) providing ultra clear and smooth video as well as excellent sound quality. Using the Wi-Fi app, you can also select 1080p or 720p resolutions at up to 120fps. As with all LawMate covert recording devices, the video can be watermarked with a time and date stamp for evidential grade recordings. To watch the video you have recorded or view the photos you have taken, you can simply connect the RC400UW to any computer using the supplied USB-C cable. The device will act as a mass storage device (card reader) allowing you to play and watch your videos. You can also review captured footage using the LawMate smart app software via a Wi-Fi connection (Android or iOS).

Benefits of Wi-Fi:

With the ability of Wi-Fi connectivity, you can instantly review the footage you have captured on a smartphone or tablet and you can live-stream the video content up to a distance of 5 metres. The Wi-Fi connectivity permits the user to download the captured content wirelessly. The Wi-Fi application also allows full control over the device, including resolution settings (4K/2.7K/1080p/720p), the ability to set and synchronise the time and date with your smart device, format the SD card and start/stop recording. Once the device is set-up, you can also ‘hide the SSID’ so no one else can find your RC400UW key fob wirelessly.

4K

It goes without saying, 4K video technology is extremely detailed and high-quality when it comes to the final results. 4K means more resolution, more clarity and more editing options when it comes to post-production.

Is it better to shoot in 4k video or 1080p

From what we know about current display resolutions and the human eye, shooting 1080p will be fine for most applications. Past that, production quality is more important than resolution, but shooting in 4K will definitely give your projects more appeal on larger displays or projectors.

Is 4K really that much better than HD?

More advanced screens with 4K HDR meet these standards and have a typical resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, around four times than the traditional HD amount. Basically, 4K devices provide four times the normal pixels, improving the picture and screen quality.

Can the human eye see the difference between 1080p and 4K?

The human eye’s ability to discern the difference between 1080p and 4K largely depends on viewing distance and screen size you are viewing on. In certain situations, especially on larger screens or when sitting closer to the display, the eye can certainly perceive a difference, with 4K delivering a clearer, more detailed picture to the eye.

4K looks better

Leaving quality aside, 4K just looks better as it reduces the chance of colour banding. So your set colours will be captured in far more detail compared to 1080p resolution. Even the smallest of gradual colour changes will be captured almost as good as how you would see it in person. Skies won’t just look blue anymore, but rather a majestic spectrum of blue shades.

FREE UK Shipping

Products over £50 are eligible for FREE Shipping. FREE shipping will also be applied if your total order exceeds 50.00 GBP. Please note that our FREE shipping option is only available to residents of the United Kingdom shopping on our retail website. Overseas customers will be charged at our couriers standard international postal charges.

International Shipping Restrictions

International Standard Delivery

International Standard usually takes between 7 - 10 working days. The delivery time depends on where you're located, the time of year and post service in the country we're shipping to. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery to account for any issues in transit. We can only consider items as lost in transit after this time.

Returns Policy

Whilst we strive to ensure that all goods reach you in perfect condition, there may be a time when this does not happen. If you find that your goods are faulty on arrival, then you are entitled to a repair, replacement or a refund. Please contact a customer service representative prior to returning goods.

  • If you are a retail customer of ours we will give you a full refund including the cost of returning goods.
  • If you are a trade customer then please speak directly to your sales representative who will advise you.

 

Return of Unwanted Goods - Our Satisfaction Guarantee

We guarantee your satisfaction with any goods that you purchase from us. If you are not happy with your purchase for any reason you may contact us within 10 days of receiving your goods to arrange a full refund or credit note of goods.

Unwanted goods must be returned to us unused and in their original condition within 14 days. We recommend that returned goods are sent to us by special/recorded delivery with the appropriate insurance cover as they will only be deemed returned when signed for by us. SURE24 will not refund the carriage cost of the returned goods.

  • If you are a retail customer we will give you a full refund for the value of the goods.
  • If you are a trade customer we will give you a full credit note for the value of the goods.

 

Where goods are not returned in this time we reserve the right to arrange collection at cost to the customer.

Contract Cancellation under the Distance Selling Regulations

Please note that you are entitled to cancel this contract if you so wish provided that you exercise your right and notify us no longer than 7 working days after the day on which you receive the products. This entitlement excludes any items that were special orders. We will issue a refund within 30 days. This refund will include any shipping charges you paid when you made your purchase.

Although you have a right of refund, you will have to return goods and pay the postage costs of shipping back to SURE24. It is important that returned items are with the original packaging and undamaged. Goods that are returned damaged will incur a charge.
