According to Home Office Statistics more than 28,000 buildings are attacked by arsonist each year. The number of arson attacks has increased by 100% since 1982. Arson attacks are the cause of thousands of injuries and dozens of fatalities each year. The letterbox is the one part of every building that is always open.

Letterbox Protection - Mailsafe

Mailsafe is a metal letterbox with a built in fire extinguisher that is automatically activated in the event of an arson attack. Anti-Arson letterboxes from ‘Mailsafe’ are designed to eliminate the threat of arson by firstly containing any flammable liquid poured through the letterbox before automatically extinguishing the fire. This works by a heat sensitive automatic fire extinguisher which self activates at 57°C. The letterbox is made from fireproof sheet steel and has neoprene seals to make the unit airtight.
